*IMPORTANT INFORMATION FOR SECTION 8 LANDLORDS* NYCHA receives Section 8 funding from HUD the first business day of the month. After NYCHA receives its Section 8 funding, it will process payments to landlords within one business day until further notice.
IMPORTANT update for Section 8 Debit Card users only. Timely action required to update payment method to ensure no disruption in subsidy payments. Please click on Debit Card Program Termination Letter for more information.
*NEW* The implementation of the National Standards for the Physical Inspection of Real Estate (NSPIRE) has been extended by HUD to February 1, 2027. NYCHA will continue to follow Housing Quality Standards for inspections. NSPIRE Standards for Carbon Monoxide Alarms and Smoke Alarms will still apply during this extension. HUD requires smoke alarms to be either hard-wired or sealed 10-year battery alarms.
